In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.Albert Camus
Hello, Human Beans! I hope this update finds you all well and happy! Today I just want to take a break and do an update post. Lots and lots going on and I want to share with you.
I just had my birthday last week. I turned 40, which seems a little unbelievable, honestly. That said, my 30s were, collectively, the absolute pits. I’m looking forward to a new decade and a new me!
My Mental Health Update
So, first I want to give you a quick update on my mental health. Basically, I’m doing okay. Life circumstances still put a lot of stress on me, but I’m feeling better every day. The depression that has plagued me for the last few months is starting to lift; I’m staying out of bed more and more.
I had to call my doctor and ask for a med adjustment, which she obliged. The last time we had talked, we agreed that my depression was circumstantial and no adjustment would be needed, but the circumstances changed. I couldn’t control it anymore. It was not the kind of depression that was going to go away on its own. I needed the extra help. There is no shame in that.
I’ve been feeling like I probably need to get back to therapy, but I’m still trying to decide if I want to go back to Dr. W or if I want to try to find someone who specializes in what I need. I need the most help with ADHD and trauma. It’s hard to find people who specialize…when you look up the providers online, they always list EVERYTHING as their specialty. I need something more specific, I think.
That said, the idea of having to try and find a new provider that I mesh well with is daunting. It took me YEARS and a lot of good luck to find Dr. W. I am forever grateful for everything that she has done for me, they kindness and understanding she has shown me, and the knowledge about my brain that she bestowed on me. She believed me. She helped me. I hate that it may be time to move on.
Anyway, I’m doing much better. Getting stronger. Just taking it day by day.
As you may have noticed, I’ve been posting every Saturday morning, which is something that I hope to continue into the future. If you have any topics that you would like me to write about, please feel free to reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and let let me know!
Speaking of writing, I’ve been querying my novel with literary agents. The process can be pretty grueling and there is A LOT of rejection. My Imposter Syndrome and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. I’m dealing with it pretty well, if I do say so myself. I know not to take it personally and I just keep trucking on. Stay tuned cause this book is getting published, one way or another!
I’ve added some new designs and merchandise to the RedBubble store. Make sure you stop by and peruse our wears. There is everything from stickers to clothes and shower curtains to notebook. You can check out my designs below. I’ll be adding more periodically. If you see a tweet or a blog quote that you’d love to see on a coffee mug, let me know at email@example.com://www.redbubble.com/assets/external_portfolio.js new RBExternalPortfolio(‘www.redbubble.com’, ‘aaccmeeks’, 5, 5).renderIframe();
Also, and I might have buried the lead here, but I am looking for coaching clients as we speak. I have 4-5 spots open and I offer a FREE 30-minute getting-to-know-you call to see if the coaching relationship feels right for both of us. I also offer flexible payment plans. If price is an issue, please still reach out and we’ll see what we can work out. I don’t want cost to be a barrier for anyone.
If you have ADHD or mental illness and you want help and support while you crush your goals, find your passion and purpose, and learn to love and accept yourself in a radical way, then reach out via email (firstname.lastname@example.org)!
That’s really all I’ve got for this update, y’all. We’ll be back next Saturday with our regularly scheduled programming, I just wanted to break in really quick and let you guys know what is going on in TWOMD’s world! This one was a short update, but an important one.
